Cancellation of 2020’s Event

Fairfax & Favor Rockingham Castle International Horse Trials 2020 – CANCELLED

We have been monitoring the developing situation with Covid-19 and, following yesterday’s announcement from British Eventing to cancel all events with immediate effect, we have made the very difficult decision to confirm the cancellation of the 2020 Fairfax & Favor Rockingham Castle International Horse Trials.

British Eventing’s decision was made following the Government’s announcement that everyone should avoid social contact, non-essential travel and to avoid gatherings, both large and small. The restrictions imposed by the Government are to not only help to stop the spread of the virus but also to alleviate the burden on the NHS.

With just weeks to go until this year’s competition, given these announcements and the evolving situation that we are currently facing, we feel we have no choice but to take this step.

“It is with heavy hearts that we have had to make this decision, but these are incredibly challenging times and priority has to be with the wellbeing of our competitors, volunteers and supporters,” says event organiser, Lizzie Saunders Watson.

“We’d like to thank our sponsors, volunteers and all of our support team for their help over the last few weeks and in recent years. We urge everyone to stay safe and look forward to welcoming everyone back to the Great Park next year.”

We will be getting in touch with anyone who has purchased tickets, booked a trade stand or purchased a caravan pitch very shortly.
