The countdown continues to this year’s Fairfax & Favor Rockingham International Horse Trials

There is now just one month to go until the 2022 Fairfax & Favor Rockingham International Horse Trials (20-22 May) – and we can’t wait!

This year’s event promises to be the best yet, with the excitement of world-class sport returning to the estate grounds after the pandemic set alongside the incredible milestone of celebrating the castle’s 950thanniversary! Preparations are well underway, and we are delighted to be getting ready to welcome the eventing community into the Great Park once again.

International Eventing

There will be many highlights to enjoy over the three days of competition, including the return of the Loomes Championship. Unique to Rockingham, this contest sees the highly sought-after prize of a hand-produced watch made locally in Stamford awarded to the rider closest to the optimum time on the cross country across the Advanced Intermediate and Open Intermediate classes. The incentive of such a beautiful prize certainly makes for some thrilling cross country riding and with there yet to be a female winner, many will be hoping that one of the girls can finally get their hands on this incredible prize!

We are also excited to be hosting the first pilot of British Eventing’s Intermediate Masters Series. The Masters provide unique opportunities for riders competing at national level, such as performing a bespoke dressage test, competing in an international sized 20m x 60m dressage arena and having the option to wear a tailcoat. We hope to get this new concept off to a great start here at Rockingham.

Equestrian Sport

In addition to the eventing classes, there will be plenty of other opportunities for riders of all ages to compete at Rockingham.

We also offer:

  • Pony Club Team Show Jumping
  • Riding Club Team Show Jumping
  • Arena Eventing classes
  • Qualifiers for the prestigious Burghley Young Event Horse Finals

A day to remember for the whole family

Alongside the eventing, there will be plenty for the whole family to enjoy – including trade stands, children’s entertainment, and an artisan food fayre full of local delights. You can ever bring your canine family members along, with a ‘have-a-go’ dog agility course available throughout the weekend.
